​Cricket is a coming 5 year old 15.1ish Thoroughbred mare who never made it to the race track. She came from a farm unloading many horses and they were shipping to the auction houses "kill pens" and we intercepted by Mississippi Horse Rescue. I agreed to start her training for them to find her the best and most appropriate home possible. In her first 30 days of training she will now let you touch her ears, stand in the cross ties quietly, stand for the vet and farrier and let small kids handle, brush and tack up. She also quickly learned her lead changes and is currently schooling confidently at 2'6 and has shown no problem with the 3 ft jumps we thrown in the course at her. She has shown no marish tendencies yet and a 9 yr. old child has also been schooling her. We LOVE this little mare. She really needs her own child or small adult. Would prefer a show hunter/jumper home as she seems to flourish in a work program. She's very affectionate and we have videos upon request. ​Meet Deacon!!!!! We just got him in and is not ready for adoption just yet. He finished his last race 2 days before he went to the auction and the kill buyers were wanting him. I just could'nt let them have him. Here is just one week home with no turn out and didnt know how to lunge. It was cold and windy so he had every chance to be a bad baby and he was great. He rode in a busy arena with ponies and lessons and big mud puddles and never blinked an eye. He's showing great promise.
